Hobie 16 Worlds 2026 in the USA: back in pictures with Forward Sailing

The 2026 Hobie 16 International Championship brought the Hobie 16 community together in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, from September 12 to 25.

As a partner of the event, Forward Sailing had the opportunity to connect with sailors and with an international class that continues to bring different generations onto the water.

With new images received after the event, we take another look at this US edition and at one very practical requirement for Hobie 16 owners: protecting the boat between sailing sessions.

Hobie 16 Worlds 2026: back in pictures

On shore and on the water, the Hobie 16 remains instantly recognisable. Close racing, international crews and boats prepared for several days of competition once again highlighted the activity surrounding this class in Ocean Springs.

These new images also allow Forward Sailing to continue the conversation with Hobie 16 sailors after the championship and highlight equipment developed around the way the boat is actually used.

A class that continues to bring sailors together

The Hobie 16 is used for racing, club sailing and recreational sailing. These different uses create simple but important requirements: transporting the boat, leaving it rigged between sessions, storing it in a boat park or protecting it during longer periods ashore.
